TUESDAYS, Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23: The Special Interest Groups meet 6 p.m. at The MacMechanic, 216 E. Gutierrez St., Santa Barbara. See the Special Interest Groups page for more information. THURSDAY, February 18, 6 p.m.: Filemaker can do much more than help you keep track of your books and CDs. It also does audio, video, emailing, dialing, stand-alone apps, kiosks! Our own Randy Reetz will show you some of the amazing things you can do at home and in the office that you never thought of.
The sensational new iPad! Also, SBMUG members returning from Macworld Expo will give us their report of what’s new in the Apple-Mac-iPad-iPhone-iPod ecosystem. Most of the discussion will probably be about the sensational new iPad. Can’t wait? Try these site searches: MacSurfer · MacNN · The Mac Observer · Macworld Magazine. Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m. Location: The Natural History Museum’s Farrand Hall (see directions below). As always, we’ll have wireless internet access, delicious refreshments, and good company!
Directions:We meet at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, 2559 Puesta del Sol, Santa Barbara. Go up Los Olivos Street just past the Mission and take the second left onto Las Encinas Rd. Turn left at the end of the block, then into the Museum’s parking lot on the right. From the parking lot entrance, walk through the iron gate. The meeting will be in Farrand Hall, a short stroll past the gate. Look for a sign pointing the way. General info for main meetings:The public is welcome (bring your PC and Linux friends, too!), but only members may enter the drawing for prizes! Refreshments will be served. Time: 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting begins with a general question and answer session. Bring your big questions, your little questions, your tricky questions, your "stupid" questions, your technical questions, your newbie questions, your part one and part two questions, the question you were always afraid to ask, the question that may beg the question … Refreshments will be served, and the presentation will begin shortly after. Future meeting dates:Q&A: Tuesday evenings at the MacMechanic store. See the Special Interest Groups page for details. |
