THURSDAY, May 15th, 2008: Staff from Apple's Thousand Oaks store will tell us about .Mac, the Mac experience on the Internet—Web Gallery, Web Hosting, IMAP Mail, Sync, iDisk, Storage, Web Gallery and much more. As an SBMUG special promotion, Apple's Thousand Oaks store is offering $30 off the retail price of $99 for all paid up members. This is a great opportunity for current members, expired members who renew, and those who join at the meeting or before.

    We'll have the usual Q&A session beginning at 6 p.m., the presentation will begin shortly after 7 p.m. As always, we'll have wireless internet access, delicious refreshments, and good company!

Directions:

We meet at Peabody School, 3018 Calle Noguera, Santa Barbara. This month's meeting will be in the Science Room. Take Highway 101 to the Las Positas Exit and go north on Las Positas. Turn right on State Street. Turn left on Calle Laureles, left at Calle Noguera for parking. Enter through the gate across from the parking lot, walk left around the end of the auditorium. The Science Room is on the other side, facing the auditorium. Watch for the SBMUG sign!

THURSDAY, June 19th, 2008: The folks from Lynda.com will tell us all about their on-line tutorials and training, designed to help people keep up with the latest software. Some tutorials are available for free: Click a link for one of the training titles; on the page that opens, the free tutorials are listed in black.

Chris Breen

Macworld's Christopher Breen will be our presenter on July 9th!

WEDNESDAY, July 9th, 2008: our special guest will be Macworld Senior Editor Christopher Breen. He's been writing about the Macintosh since the latter days of the Reagan administration. He currently writes Macworld's Daily Tips, as well as Game Room, the magazine's monthly games column. When not engaged in journalistic pursuits, Chris works as a professional musician in the San Francisco Bay Area.

THURSDAY, August 21st, 2008: the second annual SBMUG Picnic! Our July 2007 picnic at Goleta Beach was great fun!

General info for main meetings:

The public is welcome (bring your PC and Linux friends, too!), but only members may enter the drawing for prizes! Refreshments will be served.
    For more information about SBMUG programs, or to make suggestions for future programs, write to us!

Time: 6 to 9 p.m. The first hour features a general question and answer session. Bring your big questions, your little questions, your tricky questions, your "stupid" questions, your technical questions, your newbie questions, your part one and part two questions, the question you were always afraid to ask, the question that may beg the question … The presentation will begin shortly after 7 p.m.
